5 Stages of Getting a UNH Spring Concert Ticket

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNH chapter.

Every year we wait for it, the announcement of the spring concert here at UNH. We wait, and wait, and wait… and then SCOPE pulls through, announces the concert and instantly everyone and all their friends know about it. That’s the beauty of social media, but once the word hits so does the anxiety. Suddenly you plan your whole week around making sure you are ready for a ticket. And once the day comes it’s all for one and one for all.

Stage 1: The Wake-Up

Once the announcement is made everyone already has their alarms set for the morning of the ticket sale. Sales at 8 AM? Ok, 6:45 alarm it is. You along with your roommates work together to make sure everyone is wide-eyed and ready. It’s go time.

Stage 2: The Waiting

At first due to the high demand of people ready to get their tickets to there is a long, long, long wait. It may seem like hours, days, years before you are sent to the page to sign in. Doesn’t matter, you do it. You wait. And wait. And wait.. and stare at the computer screen, because it’s worth the wait.

Stage 3: You’re In!

And finally, the miraculous page to sign in flashes on your computer screen. It’s only been an hour or so, you’ve only missed class, been to breakfast and back, maybe even brought your computer with you, and now you’re here. As you all race to type in your information as fast as you can suddenly it freezes, it crashes, you’re stuck waiting again as the final load of the page takes what seems like eons to complete. And you just hope and wish that this goes through.

Stage 4: Your Worst Nightmare – No Floor Left

If you’re lucky, and I mean really lucky you (and all your friends) get floor seats. But sometimes that’s just not in the picture and you see those horrible, horrible words: Floor Tickets – Sold Out

It’s okay, please stay calm it’ll all be alright. There’s still bowl available. And look at it this way you won’t be stumbled upon, pushed around, trampled and lose your friends in the crowd this way. Better than no ticket right?

Stage 5: The Planning

Now that your order is complete of your tickets you print those puppies out and go on to the next and final stage: planning. What are you going to wear? When should you start waiting in line to get in? Do you go out before and after? How exactly can you find a way down to the floor, into the front and on to the stage? Too far?

Take this time wisely to get emotionally, mentally, and phyiscally ready for the best night of the semester.

Let the countdown begin.
