We celebrate women because we are strong, nurturing, and we kick butt! Sorry men. But you should agree, women are better. It’d be easy to say we look up to Beyonce or Nicki Minaj, but NBCBLK, an outlet for NBC to discuss black identity, culture, and politics, are choosing to celebrate various women through their “#31DaysofFeminism” hashtag, and, so are we.

Ai-Jen Poo is the director of the National Domestic Workers Alliance and a 2014 MacArthur fellow. She has been named one of Time Magazine’s most influential people for her work in organizing immigrant women workers nearly two decades ago. Rebecca Saldaña is the Executive Director of Puget Sound Sage. She builds affordable housing, a clean and healthy environment, and a strong community for families.
Cherisse Scott is Founder & CEO of SisterReach, a grassroots organization in Memphis, Tennessee, focused on empowering, educating, organizing and mobilizing women and girls in the community around their reproductive and sexual health.
