Spring is almost here and it’s time to clean out the mounds of clothing in your closets! It’s important to update the basic pieces of your wardrobe every now and then to keep your style in check and to make sure that your clothes are without holes and loose strings! Here are four ways to spice up your closet!

1. Replace

Most people don’t think about this, but it is recommended that you replace the basic staples of your wardrobe. Items with that get the most use, such as tank tops and T-shirts, should be tossed or donated every six months. Jeans, blazers, and sweaters tend to last longer, but if you find that they aren’t fitting anymore or are worn down, invest in similar pieces that will benefit you for the year ahead. Basics need some love too!

2. Pops of color

When we think of basic staples, we tend to lean towards neutrals like black, white, and gray, but why not bring some life to your outfits with splashes of color? Throw in some red knee-length skirts, royal blue blouses, or sharp yellow blazers to brighten up the room and stand out to your peers when you give your winning presentations!

3. Purses

Instead of bringing just a regular lunch bag to work or class, invest in a few cute purses to tote on your break! It’s good to have a cute accessory to add to your outfit that will carry your keys, wallet, and snacks!

4. Different Types of Heels

The classic black pumps are crucial to have in your wardrobe for formal events and in a corporate environment, but don’t forget that it’s okay to incorporate some nude and white heels into your shoe collection as well! Also, you should purchase a pair of  statement stilettos for after work events!

These clothing and accessory transitions will transform your closet. Make your basics look brand new and super trendy as you take on the responsibilities of a professional young woman!
