Here’s What You’re Most Likely To Shop For When Drunk

Liquid courage goes beyond sidling up to that cutie at the bar or ordering that extra-large, end-of-night pizza—turns out it can influence your spending, too. It’s no surprise that drunk impulse shopping is a thing, but what exactly are we spending on in the middle of the night every weekend?

Apparently, it’s shoes and lingerie—and the expensive kind, too. Racked tapped in to the expertise behind e-boutique Lyst to learn that 48 percent more orders than usual are placed on Fridays at 2 a.m., and the average order value is 30 percent higher, too. Past midnight, that value increases to 40 percent. Lingerie sales skyrocket to somewhere around the $300 value Friday nights; splurge-worthy dresses are sold at a rate of 320% higher; and we’re more like to spend way, way more on shoes after 10 p.m. on Fridays than we normally would.

Having a few drinks tonight? Be sure to hide your wallet—especially once midnight hits.
