Incoming! Class of 2020: Meet Josie Evans!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at App State chapter.

Meet the Class of 2020: Josie Evans

Year: Rising Freshman

Major: Undecided (but probably music related)

Hometown: Thomasville, NC

Hobbies:Anything music related, drawing/painting, taking pictures, and napping.

I sat down with a friend of mine who is coming to App State next year to ask her what made her want to join the Appalachian state family and what she plans to do while she’s here.

Why did you choose App State?

“App was really just the best choice for me. I didn’t want to go to an enormous college, but I didn’t want to be 1/1000 either. I love the mountains, and App just feels like home.”

What did it feel like when you got accepted?

“I had been really stressed about making a decision, and I felt really calm, actually. It just felt right. So when I got the letter, I felt all the pieces move into place, and I felt relieved.”

What is your Major and why?

“I am going in undecided. If anything, my major would probably be something related to music.”

What are you most excited about doing at Appalachian?

“I’m really excited to meet new people and the fresh start that comes with it. I don’t plan on joining a sorority, but I would like to join a religious organization/Bible study group.”

How do you feel about App State winters?

“I love cold weather, so winters at App shouldn’t be a problem for me at all.”

I think that Josie is going to do great at App next year. Braving the cold is half the battle at App!  I hope she enjoys her four years here and that you get a chance to meet her!
