We’ve all come to the sad realization that sylly week is long gone and so is all our money. College is expensive – and online shopping is too, of course. Working up the courage to check our bank accounts can be tough, and everyone’s favorite medical professionals know the feeling all too well. Here are the 14 stages of checking your bank account, as told by Grey’s Anatomy.
1. It begins with procrastination.
Bank account? What bank account?
2. And of course, procrastination isn’t complete without stress eating.
3. …and a little more stress eating.
Pizza is a great distraction, you know.
4. But soon enough, there’s nothing left to do except to check it.
5. So, with all your courage, you open the statement on your computer.
Please don’t be too bad… please don’t be too bad…
6. You open your eyes and think, “How did you let it get this low!?”
7. You then begin to question all of your life choices.
8. And the blame is now put on those new boots you just got.
Darn you, semi-annual sales!
9. Oh, and those other shoes, too.
Maybe this is more of a “you” problem…
10. The phone rings… oh no, it’s your parents.
Of course, their timing is impeccable.
11. You must admit your defeat all over again to them.
12. But, as always, they have your back with some good advice.
When is some guidance from mom not exactly what you need?
13. And finally, comes acceptance.
It is what it is.
14. As long as you’re making it work, you’re good to go!
In the end, you’re a college student; and being you comes first. Even though having some extra cash around is handy, your happiness is what really counts. Maybe just cut back a little bit on the shoes. Focus, work hard, and dance it out if you need to.
