Sonoma County is known for its rolling green hills, and there’s a hiking spot in Petaluma where the hills are opened up to adventure in. The park is called Helen Putnam Regional Park.
I had been here one time before, and since I was hiking alone, I wanted to try something a little different. I started with one of the steeper, narrower trails. But for every hiker out there, there are several trails to choose from, ranging from easy to difficult.
Once I got up the steep part, the trail opened up, and beautiful views were all around.
The most awe-inspiring part was the view of the Petaluma Valley from the top of the hills. On the way back, there was a small pond, and more beautiful views of the hills.
Helen Putnam Regional Park is located at 411 Chileno Valley Road, Petaluma.
