A Love Letter to Leonardo DiCaprio

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Winthrop chapter.

My darling Leo,

Where do I even begin?

From the moment I laid eyes on you, I knew I was in love.

I remember the first time I saw you–it was the first time I watched Titanic. I was probably only around 12 or 13 years old, but with your floppy blonde hair and piercing blue eyes, I was hooked. You had that boyish charm that was hard to resist.

Over the years, my love for you has just grown stronger, and I admire you more and more each and every day. I admire you for you’re talent, you’re love for the environment and you’re passion for the things you do. And let’s be honest, you’re pretty easy on the eyes, too.

You are so modest about your talent and I love that about you. You’ve said many times before that you’re not in this business for the awards and the money, and I think that is such an honorable thing to say because a lot of people in the industry do only care about the awards and the money. But you don’t…you’re perfect.

You have such a passion for our world. You raise awareness of global issues affecting our environment and you do everything that you can to help solve the problems that we are facing each and every day.

I’m trying my best not to make this letter sound creepy and I promise you–I’m not a creep! I’m just a huge fan.

I’m sure you get letters like this all the time. Fans professing their love for you and dying for you to love them back…but who can blame them?

Throughout the years and throughout all the crazy, you seem to have remained true to yourself and you haven’t let the fame and success get to your head. You remain grounded and extremely grateful for your parents for helping you start your career, which is just another reason why I love you. Not only for your incredible talent on screen, but also for the seemingly down to earth man that you are off screen.

So here’s to you Leo! Congratulations on your first Oscar win and I (and every other girl in America) look forward to seeing what’s next!

 Love always,

A devoted fan
