For those of us who often cross Queen’s Park Crescent, perhaps to attend our afternoon lecture at Victoria College or to go for a brisk jog across Queen’s Park Circle, the construction site at what was previously the Faculty of Law has become a constant. It is a constant construction zone around Philosopher’s Walk at Trinity College, and the weather has turned the area into a slip and trip hazard. However, something beautiful has come out of it all – the newly renovated and recently re-opened, Bora Laskin Library.

The Bora Laskin Library opened in 1991 and is named in honour of Bora Laskin – one of the founders of the Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto. The library itself is a wonderful source for students studying or hoping to one day study law, and contains a wealth of primary legal material from countries such as Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom. There are over 700 legal periodicals from around the world housed in the library, many of which have been digitized and are available online.
