On February 11th, Katie Ermilio held her New York Fashion Week Presentation at the Bowery Hotel, a boutique hotel in the Lower East Side. As an intern of her public relations agency, Ali Fee Public Relations, I was able to see first-hand what happens behind the scenes of a fashion show, in the months prior and the day of. As an intern, I was able to research and visit potential venues for the show, research models and attend model castings, and research outreach prominent people in the fashion world, whether that be fashion bloggers, editors, and celebrities. During the show, I helped check in guests, hand out gift bags, and offer assistance to any task that needed attention.
Katie Ermilio is known for her feminine and classic nightwear that has been repeatedly featured on outlets such as Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire, Vanity Fair, and others. Her designs have landed on Jaime King, Selena Gomez, Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, and others. Her fall 2016 collection did not disappoint with many designs that were classic and form-fitting, and finished with luxurious fur toppers.
Right after the presentation was over, I was able to help at the fall 2016 look book shoot, which utilized the unique look of the Bowery Hotel and the models that had just walked in the clothes during the presentation.  Overall, the show was a success, earning her designs the title of “nightwear goals”.Â
