Guys, I have a confession to make: I love online shopping! There’s just something so satisfying about getting packages in the mail, you know? But at what point does an enthusiastic appreciation of something cross the line over into a full-blown addiction? Here are eleven signs that you might be an online shopaholic. Â
- You receive more promotional emails from stores than you do from actual people. But that’s what email’s for, right?
- The workers at the post office all know you by name.At first, it was little awkward going into the post office so often, but now you’re at the point where you really don’t care.
- As far as you’re concerned, “your,” “item,” “has,” and “shipped” are the four most beautiful words in the entire English language.Although “hey,” “the,” “pizza’s,” and “here” are all very close seconds.
- Â Online sales make you want to jump for joy.“Guilt-free shopping? SIGN ME UP!”
- You’ve ordered something online and then forgotten about it. But when it arrives, it’s the best feeling in the world!
- Admittedly, you sometimes browse your favorite online stores during work or class.Shhh. Don’t worry. I’ll keep your secret safe. Oh wait—
- You’ve bought things you didn’t really need in order to be eligible for free shipping. I mean, it does make a certain kind of sense. Maybe?
- Nothing makes you more upset than when a site doesn’t stock something in your size. It’s not fair!
- Looking over your credit card statement can be a little bit scary. Most of the time, you’re a responsible spender, but every now and then, you’ll look over all the purchases you’ve made this month and think, “Whoa. Did I really spend that much?”
- The thought of going to an actual store makes you physically ill.Waiting in lines? Being bombarded by annoying salespeople? Actually having to put on real pants? Um, no thanks!
- You get irrationally excited whenever your package finally arrives. Why not? It’s like getting a present from yourself!
There’s no denying that the Internet has improved the lives of many people all over the world. I’m not sure that enabling online shopping addictions counts as one of those improvements, but at least it allows us to buy the things we want without actually having to talk to people. Hey, sometimes you just need to treat yo self, right? Right?? (That’s what I’ll keep telling myself, anyway.)
