6 Valentine’s Day Outfit Ideas (with basics you have in your closet!)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Framingham chapter.

Valentine’s Day is almost here and with it comes the pressure of picking out the perfect thing to wear. If you’ve already started freaking out before that sentence ended then I’m here to reassure you that everything is going to be alright! Here are a few outfits I’ve picked out to hopefully make that day a little less stressful for you!

1.   The Night on the Town Glamour Date

I chose this outfit for someone who is going on a more upscale dinner date maybe in the city. I am wearing a black midi dress and gray heels while accessorizing with my nude bag. For this look I used basic pieces from my wardrobe like the black dress while pairing it with fun accessories like my black puff keychain! To add more fun you could wear a more colorful shoe or a statement piece necklace.

2.   Adventure Date

This look is for all the adventurous outdoorsy folks out there who for their Valentine’s Day are going to be outside! You can still be all bundled up and warm without having to look like a marshmallow. This look is put together using a basic white long sleeve tee, black leggings, and a pink vest. You may have some or even all of these classic layers to recreate this style. I added my lace up “hiking” booties to keep my feet warm without compromising the theme of the date look.

3.   The Night-In Date

This outfit is for that comfy, cozy night-in just watching a movie with your teddy bear! The basics I used for this outfit were my fuzzy crop top with a fun saying, black joggers, and a flannel tied around my waist. This look is very easy to pull off even if you just have cute pajamas!

4.   The Casual Date

I put this look together with comfort in mind. This is for the girl who wants to remain stylish without compromising functionality. The outfit I have chosen can be worn on a dinner date at a casual restaurant or even just for going on a walk! I pulled it together with basic blue jeans, a striped crop top, a leather jacket, and some booties.

5.   Dressed Up Date

I love this ensemble because you can take it from day to night so easily! Whether it is a lunch date for Galentine’s Day with the besties or a dinner date with bae, this simple black dress and scarf combo can be worn to either. I threw on the tall black boots with sweater socks for warmth with this chilly winter.

6.   Sporty Date

Last, but not least, is this super cute look for either a sporting event or playing a fun game of basketball with your date! This outfit allows for a little bit of running around with the slouchy boyfriend jeans, Keds, and Celtics t-shirt. It is also perfect for standing in the stands of your favorite team’s stadium and cheering them on because the ripped jeans and short sleeves will keep you cool!

I am not a model by a long shot, but I hope that these outfits inspire you to create your own special look for that special day!
