The great thing about starting the Spring semester in February is that you have yet another chance to start fresh. Even if you gave up on your New Year’s resolutions early into Jan Plan, a new semester means a second chance to renew your resolutions. Here are five suggestions for “new semester” resolutions.
Â
1) Start your work early. While procrastination works for some people, it often leads to a lot of unnecessary stress and anxiety. Make it a resolution to procrastinate less and manage your time better.
Â
2) Go to the gym. Going to the gym doesn’t have to be painful. There are so many fun things that many people don’t even know about like open swim, yoga, and crossfit classes.
Â
3) Eat better. It’s pretty understandable if you would rather not trek through the snow to the Athletic Center. If this is the case, it’s a lot easier to just make healthier choices at the dining hall. Â
Â
Â
4) Reach out to new people. There are so many ways to meet people at Colby. New classes give you the perfect opportunity to meet people you’ve never talked to before and make new friends. You could also sign up for a new activity or club that you were afraid to try last semester.
Â
5) Take care of yourself. Between classes, clubs, and athletics, life can be really hectic. It’s often difficult to find time to take care of yourself. Although it’s obviously important to do well in and out of the classroom, make sure you still make taking care of yourself a priority. Be sure to set aside time to do fun things with your friends or even relax by reading a book or watching a good movie on Netflix.
