Here at HCX, we understand the struggle that comes with sensitive, acne-prone skin. I’ve tried a fair few moisturisers on my quest to try and find the perfect one. Here are some of my personal favourites…
The Splurge:
Lancome HydraZen Neurocalm – at around £40 a tub, it’s definitely at the higher end of the list, but I do have a weakness for it. It’s very gentle, not very heavy, and I’ve found it great for my skin.
Middle Ground:
The Body Shop Vitamin E – a more reasonably priced option, and you can try to catch it in one of The Body Shop’s frequent 40% off sales. At £12 for a 50ml tub, it might sound a little pricey, but it lasts for a while and it’s really great stuff. It’s also available as a cream and a lotion, depending on what you prefer.
Cheap and Cheerful:
E45 – available pretty much anywhere you could buy a moisturiser, it’s one of my go-to favourites. You can pick up a 500ml bottle for around £5, possibly cheaper. Another that’s available as a cream and a lotion, depending on what you prefer, it’s light and great if you’re fighting some really dry winter skin.
The Handbag Option:
Neutrogena Visibly Clear Oil-Free Moisturiser – I am in love with this little 50ml tube. It’s small and in the seven years I’ve carried tubes of it around in my handbag, it hasn’t leaked once, and it’s easy to use on the go. It’s very light, so perfect for treating some dry skin even with makeup already on, and the tubes last ages. You can find it for around £8.
