Snow days are always fun and in some ways, they can be even more fun in college. Below are some ways that are guaranteed to give you a fun day with friends.
Something to go sledding with
Once the powder lands, everyone channels their inner child and finds the best hill on campus to sled down. If you don’t have a sled on campus, a storage bin or its lid will do just nicely, however they are more likely to break.
Hot cocoa and tea
After playing in the snow, it is always nice to come back inside and enjoy your favorite warm beverage.
Lots and lots of food
You most likely won’t want to step outside in the freezing cold to get a meal from the dining hall and if the roads are really bad, deliveries from your go-to pizza place won’t be able to reach you.
Movies
Movies and binge watching  shows on Netflix are great ways to avoid any responsibilities you may have looming over your head like homework and online coursework to make up for the day of class missed.
A good chargeÂ
Power outages when your phone is at 43 percent are a nightmare unless you know someone with a portable battery. Also if you have a portable battery, make sure it is fully charged to avoid disappointment.
Having your laptop fully charged can come in handy for DVDs or writing a paper and being productive. The WiFi will be down with the power so it won’t be as useful as it normally is.
Snow shoes
Vans and snow…NO GO! The canvas material will not keep your feet warm and water damage can occur. Your rain boots are perfect as well as anything fur-lined or made out of a more water- resistant material.
Shovels
If you have a car on campus you must have a shovel. In fact, maybe two so a friend can help you dig out your car.
Blankets
If the heat goes out, or you’re just a generally cold person, layers of blankets on your bed will keep you from turning into an ice cube at night.
Extra Winter Accessories
Now it may sound a little silly, but doubling up on gloves can keep your hands dry and super warm if you plan on being outside for a long time. Also, having extra scarves and hats never hurt anyone either.
