Wassssup! Now if you’ve been living under a rock or detached from any aspect of the world, then you do not know about the hottest gadget of 2015; the hoverboard. I previously wrote an article about how this one item would be the “it” item to purchase for Christmas 2015. While that still turned out to be true enough, there has been a surge in videos online with these popular gadgets exploding out of nowhere. The cause of the explosion is with the battery being punctured somehow from the friction, vibrations, and bumps caused my everyday usage. Companies have taken a quick PR stance and backing their product and reputation saying the “off brand” hoverboards are being manufactured with a cheaper battery which cannot handle the wear and tear. We know you can get almost ANYTHING significantly cheaper online from overseas or a warehouse in China. Well this is a true, “You get what you pay for,” form and fashion.

Many college campuses as well as airliners have begin or have bans already in place that will restrict or completely ban hoverboards in their facilities and on their property out of safety concerns. The online, retail, powerhouse Amazon  has began to issue refunds for hoverboards purchased via their site. Anyone interested in returning their hoverboard can contact Amazon customer service and see how can they qualify. Listed below are campuses and airlines that have put bans/restrictions into place so far:
