I’ve known Ashley Teal since first year, she was my roommate last year and is one of my favourite people at Western. She’s one of the girliest and most fun people to talk to — you can talk to her for hours and hours about almost anything. Here’s a little snapshot into the life of this small-town country girl.

Major: Major in biology, minor in chemistry

What’s your favourite event at Western?

Homecoming definitely! Who doesn’t love waking up at 7am to take Jello shots and deck out in every purple piece of clothing I own?!

 

What did you most look forward to when coming to Western?

Moving away from such a small town where everyone knows everybody.

 

Favourite Western memory that comes to mind?

Every first year residence party for sure, but what I will look back and remember most are the times I just stayed in and had drinks with my roommates and other close friends, and ate King Richies (my guilty pleasure).

 

Favourite off-campus place to go in London?

Cowboys Ranch.

 

What do you miss most about home?

I feel like the correct answer to this would be to say my family and my boyfriend (Spencer). Although I do miss them tremendously, when I’m away for so long my homesickness comes from missing my dog Maya. She is basically my best friend and I love her more than anything else.

 

Future career goal?

Hopefully one day to be a grade one teacher, but for now I am aiming more towards teaching high school biology or chemistry.

 

What’s your number one beauty/makeup tip?

Be natural. I never wear a ton of makeup so I honestly don’t have much advice to give, other than personally I find a little mascara and bronzer goes a long way.

Favourite movie: I’m such a hopeless romantic —The Notebook.

Favourite TV show: Too many to choose from but my top three are Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, and Grey’s Anatomy

Favorite musician: Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan and Nick Jonas

Hobbies: Singing, playing guitar, spending time with family and friends, Netflix, working out, going for night cruises, bonfires, mudding and TANNING

Celebrity crush: Nick Jonas

Kellie Anderson is incredibly proud and excited to be Western Ontario's Campus Correspondent for the 2015-2016 year.
