Readjusting to College Life After Winter Break
After a long winter break it’s easy to forget what life up on the Hill is like. Spoiled by the comforts of home, many students need to readjust to college life. Here are a couple of things you may have forgotten while visiting home:
1. You do not have a fully stocked fridge, in fact you are lucky if you have food of any kind in your fridge. Except Ramen, you have lots of Ramen.
2. Your pets don’t live here, which means you can’t play and snuggle with them, but you still have lots of cute pictures so don’t worry.
3. You have to leave your house if you want to get a meal, which means putting on shoes or risking frostbite.
4. You have obligations other than watching Netflix and napping.
5. You have to wear shoes in the shower and as a result you never feel totally clean.
6. When you have to walk everywhere, you are quickly reminded just how cold winter can be, especially in upstate New York.
7. You are going to see people other than your family, which means you should probably look somewhat presentable.
8. Commons makes a mean waffle.
9. Staying focused for an entire class period is surprisingly difficult.
10. Not having to do chores on your parents’ schedule is the bomb. You’re a free woman!
