Meet Paige Nagle, an SAU alum! Paige is a newbee* (get it?) and she is one alum you want to get to know!

Â
Hometown:Â Long Grove, IA
Major: Youth & Human Services with an emphasis in Nonprofit Management
Where did you go to undergrad?: University of Northern Iowa
Why did you chose Ambrose for your masters?  I was offered a really great job opportunity right out of college at local nonprofit, Gilda’s Club Quad Cities. I was so grateful to find a job in my field of study right out of school, but hadn’t really banked on it happening so soon. It was a personal goal of mine to go to grad school and in the back of my mind I always figured I’d attend right after graduation. I didn’t want to give up either opportunity, so I talked to some of the MOL faculty and staff at Ambrose and instantly knew it was the right choice for me. The class schedule was super flexible and allowed me to continue working full time while pursuing additional education. Not to mention, it was a perfect blend of coursework to compliment my career path. Looking back, I am so thankful that I chose St. Ambrose. My studies in the MOL program fostered a great deal of personal and professional growth and I know I wouldn’t be where I am today if I had made a different choice.
Current job:Â Coordinator of Event Engagement in the Advancement & Alumni Office
**Paige is also the new coordinator of our very own Student Alumni Association on campus! (check your email for meeting dates and times–it’s a cool club)
Favorite Food: Authentic Mexican. My favorites include Nally’s and La Finca, both in downtown Davenport.Â
Favorite Drink:Â Coffee
Favorite Color:Â Green
Favorite TV show:Â Game of Thrones + everything TGIT!
Hobbies:Â Cooking, travel, movies, reading, and anything outdoor-related
Dream Job:Â It’s a pipe dream, but my sister and I fantasize about owning our own little coffee & stationary shop. We actually keep a notebook of ideas for what we think would make hilarious greeting cards. I go through spurts of hand-lettering cards for various holidays and occasions to test out on family and friends.Â
Favorite place in the Quad Cities:Â I live in the Village of East Davenport and I’m a bit partial to that part of town. The landscape overlooking the river and historical architecture provide some of the best views in the QCA – especially during sunrise and sunset!Â
Dream Adventure:Â To buy a Westy VW van and spend a summer traveling cross-country to different national parks and hidden gems.Â
Favorite SAU memory: Homecoming 2015 – my first as an SAU employee.
Advice for SAU students: Get to know the community outside of campus. The Quad Cities has so much to offer if you’re willing to look for it!
Advice for undergrads:Â Show respect and gratitude to the faculty, staff, coaches, librarians, cooks, maintenance, security, and all employees of the university. Take a moment to realize all the working parts of your school and what it takes to provide you with the best educational experience possible. Appreciate the opportunity you have simply by being a student of St. Ambrose. Really soak it in, because your time here will be over before you know it!
Advice for anyone in college: Participate in at least one program or opportunity that takes you out of your comfort zone. You’ll be amazed by the people you meet and what you can learn by stepping outside of your routine.
Advice: Student loan repayment sucks. Try to pay off interest that is building while you’re still in school, even if it means not buying those cute new booties.Â
