Five days into second semester at UConn and we already are experiencing the first winter storm of the season. Whether you love the cold temps and snowy Saturdays or hate ‘em, there is simply no denying that winters at UConn are the best and worst.
Best: Few things are more beautiful than the wintery landscapes at UConn.
Worst: … Except for UConn in the summer… or fall… or spring…
Best: You can finally break out all those adorable sweaters and scarves that you’ve been waiting to show off.
Worst: … And that one pair of boots you will be wearing January through March.
Best: Basketball season rocks!
Worst: … Except when you don’t have tickets.
Best: No one judges you for staying inside when it is gross and slushy outside.
Worst: … Except for maybe your Netflix account.
Yes I am still watching, so what?!
Best: The view from Horsebarn Hill is breathtaking.
Worst: ... If you can make it up there in one piece.
Best: The Beanery arguably serves the most delicious hot lattes on campus.
Worst: … Just try not to spill it on yourself walking to class, which will be hard considering UConn is one big wind tunnel.
Best: You can ice skate for free with a student ID at UConn’s ice rink.
Worst: … But getting a seat on one is as cutthroat as The Hunger Games.
Best: All in all, there is no place we’d rather be.
