Layers to Save Your Life This Winter

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Waterloo chapter.

The essentials you need to keep you warm, comfy, and cute this winter. You’re welcome.

Socks

Thermal socks (or as I like to call them, sock monkey socks). They’re cute, they’re comfy and they’re super warm! And if you need to keep your toes extra toasty, try slipping on a pair of ankle socks underneath. Plus, it’s a good back-up for when your fashionable winter boots aren’t totally waterproof. UGGh.

Sweaters

Knit sweaters! Knit sweaters are great for keeping you warm while still looking great! You can wear them on their own or over your favourite button up top for really stylish layering. Besides, who doesn’t love sweater paws?

Scarves

There is nothing, and I mean nothing, more versatile than a blanket scarf. Is it a scarf? Is it a wrap? Is it a blanket? Is it a pillow? It can be everything you want and more. Never, ever sacrifice fashion for warmth again. A great added bonus is the fact that it is now publicly acceptable to turn yourself into a blanket burrito. Yes.

Leggings

Two words. Fleece-lined leggings. The best invention for girls in winter. But you can definitely put your thinner leggings to use too! If there are two things we love in this world it’s leggings and sweatpants. You kill two birds with one stone if you’ve got leggings under your sweatpants. Nothing gets in the way of a sweatpants day.

Hats

Beanies and caps and headwraps, oh my! There are endless options on how to keep your noggin warm this winter! Not to mention, being able to hide unwashed hair! You can’t have hat hair if you never take off your hat. ;)

Stay warm this winter, collegiettes!
