Spring semester > fall semester.
There. I said it. Some of you may argue with me, but here are 5 reasons why you are wrong and I am right (as per usual…)
Â
- Post-break reunions at the Boot. There’s nothing like that first Happy Hour of the semester when the street floods with people, everyone is screaming “OH MY GOD, HEEYYYYY!!!!!” at each other and running into each other’s arms, and you’re back with your favorite friends.
- Mardi Gras and everything that comes with it, but especially King Cake. Need I say more? Actually, I do. The Mardi Gras Indians Super Sunday parades are INCREDIBLE and if you haven’t been, you’ve gotta. It’ll give you a whole new perspective on Mardi Gras.
- The other festivals… Sure, the fall gives us some pretty great contenders, like Po-boy Fest and Voodoo, but how can you beat Crawfest (WE HAVE OUR OWN FESTIVAL!!! THAT’S SO DOPE!), French Quarter Fest, Strawberry Fest (I really like strawberries, okay?) or the festival to end all festivals–––Jazz Fest? You can’t beat them.
- The weather… Nothing like a beautiful April day in New Orleans spent at the Fly with some good music, good friends, a pound of crawfish and a six-pack of Abita Strawberry.
5. ~SPRING BREAK~ because obviously. Fall break is boring, winter break is way too long to be away, but spring break… Spring break is perfect. It doesn’t matter whether you road trip somewhere cool with friends, go home to see family, or spend the week exploring parts of New Orleans you don’t normally get to, spring break is always much needed and well deserved.Â
So go forth, Tulane. Go forth and KILL IT this semester. You got this.
