When you think of mesh what is the first thing you think of? For me it’s the tacky neon arm warmers I wore far too often in middle school. However, mesh is now becoming a popular trend on runways worldwide for Spring 2016. And mesh isn’t just for wannabe goth kids anymore. The fabric still carries that feeling of edge but in a more subtle way that any woman can rock.

If you would rather be at the beach than in class, go for a laidback look with mesh accents. Wear a bralette under your mesh top and layer up with your favorite raincoat, leggings, hippie shoes, and cardigan. You’re in the Pacific Northwest now so you might as well dress like it, whether you can get to the coast or not.

The Girly Girl

To rock mesh in a girly way, try wearing a mesh top and tucking it into a skirt you love or your favorite pair of jeans. Try layering different textures along with it in your accessories and accompanying clothing items to give your look that extra something.

For an all black mesh look you should also mix and match different textures and really go all out. Wear your favorite leather jacket and make your old holey jeans into a fun DIY project to incorporate mesh panels. If you’re chilly, just add a faux fur neck scarf, gloves, and some cozy knee-high socks underneath your favorite boots.

For an understated mesh look go for a top that has a built in lining. You won’t have to wear a fancy bra but you can still get the same look as other mesh tops. Add some temporary tattoos and fun accessories and you’re good to go!
