10 Movies We’re Excited For In 2016

Believe it or not, 2016 is less than three weeks away. A lot of awesome movies made their debut during 2015, and 2016 is going to bring us another round. Check out this list of movies that we’re excited to watch in 2016.

1. The Divergent Series: Allegiant

Picking up where the last movie left off, Beatrice and Tobias are adventuring into the world beyond of the fence, only to be captured by a mysterious agency. Release Date: March 18th. 

2.  Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising

This hilarious sequal stars Zac Efron, Chloe Moretz, Seth Rogan and Selena Gomez. This time, the happy couple next door is dealing with a sorority sisterhood instead of a rowdy fraternity. Release Date: May 20th. 

3. Alice Through the Looking Glass

Johnny Depp returns as the Mad Hatter, when Alice returns to the world of Wonderland. Alice travels back in time to defeat the evil Lord of Time and save the Mad Hatter. Release Date: May 27th. 

4. Now You See Me 2

The Four Horsemen are back for a comeback performance in hopes of exposing the unethical practices of a tech magnate who threatens them into performing their most dangerous heist yet. You’ll have to see it to believe it. Release Date: June 10th. 

5. Finding Dory 

It’s almost here! Dory finally reunites with her friends and family, despite being extremely forgetful. The animated sequal teaches us the true meaning of family. Release Date: June 17th. 

6. The Legend of Tarzan

The remake of the classic story starring Alexander SkarsgĂĄrd (drool) as Tarzan is sure to be a cinematic success.  A hot man running around the jungle… what else could you want?  It also stars Samuel L. Jackson and Christoph Waltz. Release Date: July 1st. 

7. The Secret Life of Pets

This hilarious and cute animated film shows what our pets do when they’re home alone. Starring Kevin Hart and Lake Bell. Release Date: July 8th. 

8. Ghostbusters

The classic movie series is coming back to life, this time as an all female reboot. It stars the hilarious Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig.  Original cast member, Bill Murray will be making an appearance.  Oh, and the beautiful Chris Hemsworth will be there, too (swoon).  It’s sure to be a good one with that cast. Release Date: July 15th. 

9. Star Trek Beyond

The series is making a come back in its 50th anniversary year, with Chris Pine as Kirk and Zachary Quinto as Spock.  Release Date: July 22nd. 

10. Suicide Squad

All the major villains from the DC Universe unite after being recruited by a secret government agency to form a force of super villains, the “Suicide Squad”. Villians such as Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), and The Joker (Jared Leto) are making an appearance. Release Date: August 5th.
