Best Fashion Apps for the On-the-Go Fashionista

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

As a fashionista, it’s hard for me to find fashion apps that I like that serve a purpose other than shopping.  After some researching, I found some apps that I think are perfect for every true fashionistas.

1. Dress For The Day

If you’re ever in a pinch on what to wear, this is the app for you. This app helps you decide what to wear on any day. When you make a profile, you choose what styles you like  ased on events you would be likely to attend such as “everyday” or “baby shower” or “brunch/lunch.” Then the app shows you some outfits based on the categories you choose and you decide whether the outfit is for you or not. It defines your style based on your choices. There is even an option to have the app base your outfits on the weather if you share your location. Lastly, the outfits that the app shares with you can be purchased from retailers if you don’t already have the pieces in your closet. I’m obsessed!

2. Stylekick

Stylekick is similar to Dress For The Day in that it shows users outfit ideas. However, it also lets individuals upload their own looks making it more interactive. For example, if I like an outfit that Shelby posts, I can direct message Shelby asking her where she got her outfit. Some users post where they get their outfits ahead of time making it easier on others. I can favorite outfits for outfit inspiration or for purchase at a later date.

3. Like to Know It

Although it is not available as an app just yet, Like to Know It runs through Instagram. How it works?  Link your email to the account so that anytime you like one of their posts on insta, you will recieve an email with the product information so you can purchase it.

4. Wanelo

Wanelo is short for want, need, love. This app shows clothing pieces from every website. All you need to do is search for a style you want like “babydoll dress” or “scallop shorts” and any clothing site that has that item will pop up after the search. It is perfect when you want to see multiple pieces from multiple retailers and don’t want to fish through each individual retailer’s site.

There are so many more fashion apps out there, but these are some of the most practical ones you’ll be sure to use more than once!
