3 Ways to Give Back in the Hudson Valley

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Marist chapter.

Most of us spent Thanksgiving being grateful for what we have and enjoying the company of our loved ones. Thanksgiving has a unique way of making us all reflect on what we are truly thankful for while also shining light on just how lucky we are. It also makes us think about the people who may not be fortunate enough to have what we do. In return, what we can do for them is provide support and give them something to be thankful for. Here are 3 organiztions right in our local community that focus on bettering the lives of others, and are always looking for volunteers!

1. Dutchess County Coalition for the Homeless

At the homeless shelter, you can volunteer to help assist in daily activities like serving meals and preparing food. Each night, they serve about 60 adults between 6:30-9 pm. Learn more at the website to see how you can get involved and fill out an application.

Here, you can offer as much time as you would like in their volunteer program doing things like assisting children, helping run events, and even fundraising.
