Why did you choose Bryn Mawr College? I chose Bryn Mawr after spending the night in one of the dorms during a prospective student’s day. The people in charge of my overnight were so incredibly smart, outgoing, and welcoming. I wanted to be like them. After I came to Bryn Mawr, all of them ended up living in my freshman year dorm.
What’s your favorite thing about Bryn Mawr College? My favorite thing about Bryn Mawr is the supportive community that we provide for one another. Even when I’m at my lowest, I always feel like I can reach out to somebody here.Â
What’s your favorite class and/or professor? As a Religion major, I actually take most of my classes at Haverford college. My favorite class was a Religion, Magic, and Orientalism course taught by a Haverford Religion professor. That class altered the way I viewed stereotypical depictions of non-Western cultures. Do you have a funny memory from your time at Bryn Mawr? During my first week of Bryn Mawr, myself and some other freshman decided to go skinny dipping. Along the way, we somehow got covered in orange paint that upperclassmen had left by the fountain. I had orange spots for the rest of the weekend. What’s your favorite thing about winter at Bryn Mawr College? Bryn Mawr looks absolutely magical in the snow. It’s wonderful when classes are cancelled for a snow day because you can take a day to walk around campus and enjoy the beauty. The count down to finals is on! Where’s your favorite place on campus to study? I mostly study in my room, which works pretty well for me. If I need to hunker down and really focus for hours on end, I’ll head to Carpenter, our older library on campus. Do you have any advice for how to best survival finals? Try and start writing or studying as soon as possible–even a few days before finals week begins. When you write a paragraph or study for 30 minutes, reward yourself for meeting these small goals. What are you most looking forward to during Winter Break? I am most looking forward to sleeping until well into the afternoon and eating homecooked food. I also can’t wait to see my dogs!
