Best Study Spaces Around Campus

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Case chapter.

Finals are right around the corner, meaning that it’s time to hit the books and make up for all the procrastinating you’ve done for the first seven weeks of the semester. This also means that campus will be flocking to KSL, making it impossible to find an open computer or quiet spot. Break out of the standard library routine and visit these other great study spots around Case’s campus.

Allen Memorial Medical Library

This library, built in 1925, is one of the best places on campus for those of you who need quiet in order to concentrate. Silence is basically a guarantee, allowing you to buckle down and ace that big upcoming exam. As an added bonus, it’s one of the prettiest spaces on campus and being surrounded by the University’s Rare Books Collection automatically makes you feel smarter.

The Tink

While it’s still hard to determine whether the new Tink will serve its purpose as a Student Center, it has provided a great new study location on campus. The building is filled with comfortable chairs, and is normally quiet enough so that you can focus on the ten-page paper you have due in an hour. It also has a WEPA station, making printing easy, and a coffee shop in case you need that extra jolt of caffeine.

The Coffee House

The Coffee House is a convenient study spot for people living on North Side. This cafe serves a wide range of coffee and teas, and is much less crowded and more calm than the Village Starbucks. It also has delicious pastries which are homemade everyday. Their Decadent Delight muffin (chocolate with cream cheese) can even make your lab report seem bearable.

Algebra Tea House

One of the coolest spots surrounding Case, this tea house is located in Little Italy. Algebra has a great ambiance, with quirky decor and just enough noise to prevent you from going crazy while staring at your computer screen. The amazing (and inexpensive) food is made right in front of you when you order and breakfast is served on the weekends. I particularly love this place during the winter months, when there is always a fire going and blankets are available to curl up with while you catch up with all your reading.
