So. Let me get this straight. I grew up in a suburb of San Diego, where the “coldest” it ever got in “winter” was like…58 degrees. I mean, at four in the morning, it’d hit 37 and if for whatever ungodly reason I was awake at that hour, I’d wear gloves, a wool hat, fuzzy socks, Uggs, and a parka. And then I came to Wyoming, one of the coldest climates in the WORLD, and my idea of winter changed just a tad.
-
Okay, let’s try to be optimistic about this! Colder weather means more clothes, am I right?!
-
Plus, scarves, pea coats and boots. Nuff said!
-
Oh my gosh, seriously, 30 degrees?!
-
Gonna need a lot of scarves…
-
Just kidding, yoga pants and Uggs it is!
-
I may be “basic” (is that still a thing?) but I’m comfier than you.
-
Where is the coffee. Someone find me some coffee.
-
Uggs are NOT suitable for walking on ice.
-
I repeat, NOT suitable!!
-
May or may not have just totally broken my tailbone. Like really, ow.
-
It’s okay, everybody falls, right? It’s slippery!
-
Wow, hello, man wearing gym shorts and a sweatshirt.
-
You’re cool.
-
Literally cool, because you’re probably freezing your butt off!
-
Haha. I’m so funny.
-
I seriously should have my own reality show.
-
Ew, they never show the gross dirty slushy snow in the movies.
-
Ew ew ew go away!!!
-
Finally, some coffee!
-
Elixir of life, get me through today.
-
Ughhh…wishing it was summer right about now!
-
I mean, would I appreciate summer as much if I didn’t make it through the winter?
-
ummm…let me think…
-
YES
-
Okay but snow is so beautiful. Like, really, it looks like a postcard outside!
-
A postcard from Narnia!
-
Where’s Mr. Tumnus? I love that guy.
-
Seriously, so cute.
-
Ahhh, snow is falling! So pretty!!!
-
Seriously, where are the cameras?! Somebody needs to film this perfect girl-in-coffee-shop-looking-at-snow-falling scene.
-
Woah…those flakes are fat.
-
Definitely don’t want to walk home in that sh*t right now.
-
Better stay here until it stops…helloooo seven more lattes.
-
Oh my gosh, it’s a blizzard! I can’t believe people pay to be out in this up in the mountains at ski resorts and stuff.
-
“Let’s pay a ridiculous amount of money to slide down an icy hill with metal sticks attached to our feet, that will be so fun! Yay gravity and frigid conditions!” I just don’t get it.
-
Now beaches I understand. The sand, the sun, the waves; and the way the seagulls majestically attack the remnants of the snacks I devoured while sunbathing.
-
Nothing better.
-
Oh alright. I guess skiing is okay.
-
I’m just totally not athletic or beautiful enough to somehow look like anything but the abominable snowman when I’m outside in this stuff.
-
Like, those “snow bunny” type girls boggle my mind.
-
Look at how perfect that girl’s hair looks right now. And that’s after wearing that cute beanie. Sheesh! The beauty!
-
Hello ma’am, yes, how do you look so perfect all the time?! Teach me your snow bunny ways.
-
It took me like 3 weeks to remember to wear waterproof mascara when it snowed.
-
I need help.
-
I would probably be super good at watching people ski, from inside, with a glass of red wine and a big fluffy blanket.
-
Speaking of wine…too bad they don’t sell wine here.
-
It’s noon on a Tuesday, woman. Calm yo’self.
-
Also, tipsy me + icy sidewalk + walk home = disaster. We’ve been over this, time and time again…
-
In summer we totally could have. Totally.
-
Ah well, another latte!
-
Okay, focus! I have a paper to finish!
-
Hey, this paper isn’t so bad.
-
Staying inside might just be my forte. “Queen of Coffee Drinking and Essay Writing!”
-
Better add “Slipping on Ice” to that title, the bruise on my butt may never go away.
-
Some people just aren’t built for winter, I guess.
-
Hence the three pairs of pants and two jackets I am currently wearing.
-
Aaaand, the snow stopped! Yay!!
-
Time to go home and be even more studious…
-
…or watch thirteen episodes of Friends…Nobody will ever know…
-
Ahh, the great outdoors! Look, you can see my breath!
-
Seriously this is so pretty.
-
Almost worth the lack of warmth.
-
Almost.
-
Do I even have fingers anymore? Or a nose?
-
Okay, repeat after me, right foot, left foot, right foot, left foot. No slipping this time.
-
Ahhh, home. Another successful snow day in the books!
