Meet the biggest sweetheart to step foot on our campus, Elizabeth Teubert (but she goes by Liz because she’s so cool). Liz is here from Illinois to spread her love and generosity to the students here at the University of Iowa by becoming involved with her community, whether it’s through her sorority, her role as a Resident Assistant, or as a health educator. Today she’s helping kids’ holiday wishes come true; next she’ll be a pediatric nurse helping kids feel better. Here’s a look into her time here at Iowa and what she’s here to do: spread the love. Why did you choose Iowa?
The nursing program at Iowa is one of the top ranked in the nation, so when I got accepted, it really sold me on coming here.Â
What’s the best thing about Iowa City?
Being able to walk anywhere. You can’t really walk in the suburbs.
What’s your favorite IC place?
My favorite place would have to be Hamburg Inn because they have gluten free food, and it’s an Iowa City staple.
What’s your favorite class at Iowa and why?
My favorite class at Iowa is Human Development and Behavior because it’s interesting to see how we are the way we are.
Favorite memory of The University of Iowa?
My favorite memory at Iowa so far was when I was sitting at the Pentacrest late at night, and I was looking at Iowa City, and it made me really appreciate being here.
Dream job?
My dream job would be a pediatric nurse, so I can help the sick kids feel better.
Any exciting plans for the school year?
Besides not failing my classes, I have my semester community outreach project, benefiting Orchard Place in Des Moines, which serves 10,000 children and youth that have emotional and behavioral challenges annually. For my sorority, we adopt kids’ wish lists to make it a better holiday for them, and it’s my first year being in charge, and I’m excited to get my sorority sisters and other RA coworkers involved.
Celeb crush?
Evan Peters. He is beautiful. No further questions please.
Ideal date?
My ideal date is actually going out and doing something. Go out and having a good conversation, it doesn’t matter where we go as long as we have a good conversation.
How would you describe your style?
I would describe my style as whatever is clean. I would say I like to be comfy. If I like it, I’ll wear it, but occasionally I wear a pair of jeans just to shock my friends.Â
