Now you might be wondering…. WHAT? Lol. Well, I am a girl and I am part of a Professional Business Fraternity on campus. We are coed and call each other brothers, why? Well, because that’s how cool it is! And in case you’re still wondering… I’m dating my fraternity brother and I love it!
At the beginning of my senior year at UCF, I decided to rush my fraternity. By the end of the second day of rush, I knew that I would get much more than just professional development! I met a tall, handsome man with such a bright smile that lit up my heart a little. After talking for almost an hour, I knew I wanted him to be mine. Fast forward a year after that day, he is the best decision I have ever made!
So, how is it like to date your frat brother? NOT as weird as you think!
Here’s 5 perks of dating my brother:
1. You’re allowed to share letters.
If you’re part of Greek life, you can relate to the annoyance that it is not being able to steal his precious frat sweater, the one he wears the most! Well, I am allowed to steal his jackets/sweaters and wear them proudly with our Greek letters! Believe me, it’s one of the biggest perks!
2. Proof of character.
Going through the pledging process of a Business Fraternity is not an easy task. It’s tiring and time consuming, it’s like taking an extra class! Therefore, the fact that we are both part of this organization reaffirms the fact that we’re dedicated individuals. We have similar goals and are looking to keep growing together as a team to accomplish them.
3. You don’t have to attend every chapter.
Got a test to study for on Sunday night? NO WORRIES! Bae can come to the rescue and send you his notes from chapter! No need to be stressing about missing information.
*Side note: Shout out to bae for taking notes for me!
4. We share brothers and close friends.
Definitely this is one of my favorite perks! We get to share our fraternity brothers and close friends. There’s never a boring moment with these people!
5. There’s tons of activities to do together.
With a job, an internship, a full load of classes, and the Fraternity…. my schedule is BUSY! So, being in the same frat allowed us to do TONS of activities together! We hang out every week, volunteer, attend work shops, AND take road trips! Besides, date nights are the best when you’re having fun with your best friend!
Now, what do you think? I told you it wasn’t weird ;)
