#HCSurvivalKits: 10 New Things to Try this Fall

Why do I love being a part of Wake Forest Her Campus? Aside from working with a group of talented, amazing young women and being able to contribute to a national online magazine, I also get a lot of free stuff! (Haha.) And when I say a lot, I mean a lot.

Two of our lovely HC ladies, Victoria Sorkin and C.c. Hernandez, at our Her Campus for Likes event earlier this month, where we gave away items from our current and past survival kits in exchange for likes on social media

Twice a semester, our national headquarters sends us a survival kit filled with goodies beyond belief. This month, our chapter was very excited to receive our first of two survival kits filled with Martha Stewart crafting supplies, makeup, hair products, room décor, and much more. On top of all of that, the theme of this semester’s first survival kit was #GettingBackGivingBack, which encouraged us all to not only relax and have a good time, but to stand out and give back to the community!

9. She’s The First Awareness Stickers

She’s the First provides scholarships to girls in low-income countries, fostering first-generation graduates and cultivating the next generation of global leaders. The organization focuses on providing adolescent girls in high school with quality education, including a support system like mentors, tutors, and extracurriculars that teach girls life skills and leadership.

She’s the First is represented on high school and university campuses all over the country by independent chapters under the direction of trailblazing student leaders. Campus chapters host fundraisers throughout the year to sponsor girls at She’s the First partner schools, while spreading awareness and creating a dialogue in their residence halls, student centers, local communities, and of course, on social media. ​She’s the First sponsors 529 girls to date in 10 countries!
