With wit, charm, and humor to spare, Jadon Hatley is the kind of guy you never get tired of talking to. Â Here’s what the sophomore actor had to say about himself:
Name: Jadon Hatley
Major: BFA Acting
Year: Sophomore
Hometown: Seminole, TX
Her Campus Texas: Â What’s your favorite thing about performing?
Jadon Hatley: Â There’s definitely a lot of pressure that comes along with performing, and you have to know how to handle yourself. Creating a character is kind of like putting puzzle pieces together, and it’s awesome when everything just fits. Â And honestly, it’s fun to pretend to be someone you’re not.
HCTX: Â What’s your favorite project you’ve ever worked on?
JH: Â I did a play by Clifford Odetes called Golden Boy that I really enjoyed. I had to dedicate so much more than just my time to those rehearsals. I was also playing a character very similar to myself, which definitely helped the process along.
HCTX: Â What’s your sign?
JH: Â Aquarius.
HCTX: Â If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
JH: Â I’d go to Venus, Florida, because that’s where Jacque Fresco lives; he’s a futurist and social engineer who has some really cool ideas. The dude is pretty much brilliant.
HCTX: Â Describe your dream date.
JH: Â Something involving nature. Â I’d so much rather be out in the world than in a restaurant or at a movie.
HCTX: Â What kind of music do you listen to?
JH: Â I like a lot of different genres of music, but lately I’ve been listening to a lot of Milo.
HCTX: Â Describe yourself in three words.
JH: Â Driven. Â Curious. Â Skeptical.
HCTX: Â What’s your favorite thing about being a Longhorn?
JH: Â Definitely all the opportunities I’ve found in the theatre department. There’s always something going on; if you want to be acting, you can find something to work on.
HCTX: Â Are you currently working on any projects?
JH: Â I just finished a fourteen-show run of the Theatre and Dance Department’s production of The Diary of Anne Frank. Â I played someone about 30 years above my age range, which was definitely challenging (but still a lot of fun). Â I’m not sure what’s next for me this semester; I’ll probably take a bit of a break.
HCTX: Â Any plans for Halloween?
JH: Â A couple of my friends are gonna throw a huge party, so that should be fun.
