With Oct. 31 creeping up on us, it’s time to start planning your costume. There will be dozens of opportunities to show off at date parties and costume contests, so you’ll want to make sure your look is guaranteed to stand out!
While rocking a solo costume can be fun and easy, being part of a duo takes your costume to the next level. But before you try to convince your boo to dress up as the ascot-adorned Ken to your Barbie, here are eight more creative couples costumes sure to make jaws drop this Halloween.
1. An old couple
Not only is this costume hilarious, it’s easy! With a cheap muumuu from Good Will, a nice button up shirt and some pillows to stuff them with, you’ll surely be the life of the party. Just imagine how funny dancing will be!
2. Arnold and Helga from “Hey Arnold!”
This costume brings back all of the nostalgia. ’90s kids everywhere will love your nod to the cartoon we all grew up with. The best part: Helga and Arnold can finally be together!
3. Mary Poppins and Bert the Chimney Sweep
This couple costume has all the charm of Disney without being overdone. The pieces are classy (and sexy!) and can be worn separately from your costume, so you’re not buying an outfit you’ll only wear once.”
4. Max and Roxanne from “A Goofy Movie”
First of all, “A Goofy Movie” is without a doubt one of the best movies of all time. I will argue that to my grave. Not only is it another dose of nostalgia, you’ll also be guaranteed to have the most creative costume there, and with minimal effort! If the Max mask is too much (it is a bit creepy, I’ll admit), it can easily be replaced with some black face paint on the nose and a pair of fake teeth.
5. Calvin and Hobbes
This costume is cute, fun and incredibly easy. All you’ll need is a striped red shirt, black leggings and a tiger onesie. The best part? This doubles as a BFF costume too!
6. Squints and Wendy Peffercorn from “The Sandlot”
Besides being possibly the sweetest couple costume ever, it’s also the easiest. All you need is a red one-piece, iconic white sunglasses, some glasses for your Squints and your sultriest pout. Girls will want to be you and guys will want to fake drown to make out with you.
7. Han Solo and Slave Leia
With the newest Star Wars coming to theaters this Christmas, the franchise is once again taking over the world. Star Wars costumes have been donned for decades, but Slave Leia will forever be a classic. Bonus points to any couple who mixes it up by breaking gender roles like the one featured here!
8. Gamora and Star Lord from “Guardians of the Galaxy”
Halloween would not be complete without at least one superhero couple. Because of the release of Marvel’s “Avengers 2,” parties everywhere will be filled with countless Black Widows and Captain Americas. Throw on some green paint and Awesome Mix Vol. 1 to take your superhero costume to a supernova level.
