Located at University and Dundas, Chestnut Residence is U of T’s largest student residence, housing over 1000 students from a diverse range of faculties and programs. Chestnut is particularly well-known for its all-you-can-eat meal plan (as well as its award-winning mac and cheese!). After undergoing major renovations over the summer, the new dining hall was unveiled to residents in September. With its additional seating and long tables, the cafeteria definitely feels a lot more spacious and modern. See for yourself with the before-and-after shots below:
Once I’m done eating in the dining hall, I usually head up to the top floor of the building, which offers some nice study spaces and great views of the city.
