1. When you contemplate your sanity for choosing an 8 a.m. on Monday.8 a.m.s are the worst in general. But add that on top of senioritis and you’ve got a recipe for disaster — or many skipped classes.
2. When you have the inevitable “what are your plans after college” conversation. This convo usually takes place with family members around the holidays. Typically it’s paired with, “So, do you have a significant other yet?” and “Are you going to give me grand babies anytime soon?” It’s an uncomfortable situation when you have to tell your family members that you don’t quite know what you’d like to do with the rest of your life—thanks for giving me a panic attack, guys.
3. When you forgot you had a paper due 10 minutes before class starts. This happens to everyone at least once. You forget to look at the syllabus, you have your days confused, whatever. Sometimes you just don’t have your life together and things turn a little bit chaotic. When in doubt? Blame it on faulty technology. The “my-computer-crashed-before-I-could-print-the-paper” excuse works 1 out of every 10 times.
4. The panic that ensues when you have to figure out how to pay for your last year.College is expensive. Student loans are inevitable. When you look back on the last three years and see exactly how much you’ve racked up, it crushes the soul. Oh, you had goals you wanted to check off your bucket list before you die? Not before you pay back those loans!
5. Dressing up for class almost never happens.Unless it’s a requirement, wearing anything other than sweats, leggings, or Norts is a rare occurrence. Rolling out of bed 10 minutes before class starts looking like a hobo happens more often than not. Sometimes people give you horrified looks, but mostly there are people who are in the same situation as you. Live on, my hobo friend, live on.
6. When you come home after having class all day.School is hard. Being an adult is twice as hard. Trying to be an adult while going to school sometimes feels impossible. Channel your inner child and embrace naptime. It’ll save you in the end.
