There’s always something going on in Nottingham’s Market Square, whether it is the Christmas Winter Wonderland or the beach in the summer. You may have noticed this week, however, the unusual circus-esque tent sat in Market Square (30th September to 4th October). With its beautiful stained glass windows, this Spiegeltent is one of the few remaining in the world and is over a century old. It has been brought to Nottingham for the first time by Nottingham City Council, assisted by the lovely local Alley Café, who are serving a host of delightful drinks. Each night brings a new performance, from burlesque to theatre shows: all surrounded by the pink glow and dozens of glittering mirrors, oozing with sophistication and intrigue (much like myself at a 9am lecture). When will Nottingham ever cease to surprise us!
