Tell us about yourself:
I’m a Junior at Towson University, dual majoring in advertising and public relations with a minor in Italian and marketing. I absolutely love traveling and being outside whenever I have the chance. Hiking helps me relax, and so does playing the violin and being an avid photographer. I have recently started crocheting, and have started making cute bralettes (photo below). I love meeting people and creating and forming new friendships, and I’m also a little too obsessed with reading. I am also the secretary of Her Campus Towson, and also the secretary Towson’s Italian Club Il Circolo.
What do you do?
I am the secretary of HCTU, so I normally take notes at meetings. I am also a good person for new or curious members to reach out to, and I also try to form new article and event ideas with other officers.
Why did you decide to join HCTU?
At first I mainly wanted to be a photographer for the blog, but then I realized that I had an interest in writing and started trying short, easy articles that later on became more challenging. I am so happy I have joined Her Campus Towson! I have made so many great friends, and have also found a way to make myself more creative and interesting. I think I have become more extroverted and confident by being with this lovely group of ladies.
How can someone else get involved with Her Campus Towson?
Just come to any of our meetings! They are every Monday at 6pm in room 305 of the Union. The first time I joined HCTU I literally walked into a meeting and sat down. Everyone is super friendly and we are always open to inviting new girls to the team!
How has this created connections for you personally and academically?
Again, I have made so many new friends from this club. We go out together for movies and dinner, and we tell each other about our weeks during every meeting. Her Campus is also great to have on your resume! All jobs and organizations have found it impressive that I write for an on-campus blog, and it is what also helped me become a writer for another blog… the Odyssey! I would never have started writing blog entries without joining Her Campus.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I would love to be working for an advertising or PR firm in either California or New York City. I really want to become a part of creative (creating ads and forming new ideas) or become an account executive, working with the customer to keep them happy. My dream is to one day work for Conde Nast.
