This week’s Campus Celeb is our very own Sarah Bence! We’ll miss you Sarah!
Name:Â Sarah Bence
Age:Â 21
Year:Â Senior
Hometown: Okemos, MI
Major:Â English with an emphasis in creative writing
Activities on campus: Kenyon Review Intern, Her Campus social chair, Archons, Yoga Teacher, Craft Center, Orchestra, I’m sure there are other things but I deleted my iCal as a form of rebellion once classes ended.
Power animal: fur seal <3
Firstly, how long were you in Her Campus Kenyon? I started second semester sophomore year.
Do you remember your first article? I believe it was about eating disorder awareness week.
Why did you want to be part of HCK? Honestly, I really just wanted to be a Campus Cutie. I had some friends in Her Campus and I was convinced that if I joined I would be one step closer to the goal…unfortunately not all dreams come true, but celeb is close enough!!!
What would you say to someone wondering whether to join Her Campus Kenyon next year? Do it! If you care about stuff and want people to read your thoughts there’s no reason not to.Â
What advice would you give to newcomers to Kenyon? Ask for a grilled muffin at the deli.
Newcomers to HCK? Don’t be afraid to write about taboo things.
Okay, onto the silly, personal questions! You get to throw one last HCK supper. Which celebrities would you invite to our last meeting? Rafael Nadal because I decided eight years ago he is going to be my husband so really should get cracking on that. Also, Hillary Clinton because I think she’d have some very relevant things to say about female empowerment, and I hear she does yoga so we already have a conversation starter.
If Jeni’s made an ice cream flavor just for you (pre-listeria), what flavor would it be and why? Bombary peanut and blackberry…and gluten-free of course ;) It’s a weird combo but I feel like it’d actually be surprisingly tasty (like me…hehe).Â
You’re graduating soon (eeee), but you still have time to complete your Kenyon bucket list! What are you hoping to cross off your list in the next week? I’m definitely weaseling my way into at least a couple of professors’ homes for dessert…my NCA also has a “no pressure bucket list” Â that we’ve been adding to all year that we need to finish up, which might call for a trip to the dairy and the Kokosing.
