We all know (but hate to remember) that we were not always the beautiful, poised collegiette women we are today. There was that one little period between 6th and 9th grade that we all know and love. Yes ladies, I’m talking about the awkward phase. I know we all wish we could reach through our computer screens into the pictures of us wearing shirts tied up by hair ties, shake our pre-teen selves and say “What are you thinking?!”. So if you ever get the chance, here’s what you should remind that awkward 14 year old you.
Â
1. Don’t upload everything to Facebook.
You will regret it your first semester of college when all of your friends are procrastinating their midterm papers and decide to stalk you back to 2008.
Â
2. Enjoy not being on your phone all the time.
Remember when we actually talked to each other?! Ahhhh weren’t those the days.
Â
3. Stick to one color band on your braces.
We know you think the lime green and hot pink is cute. But it’s not. Trust us.
Â
4. Â Hang out with the nerdy boys.
Even though they’re not cute now, in a few years they will be cute and smart. Those boys that were peaking in middle school will most likely not be on the top of your “must-date” list.Â
Â
5. Enjoy every second of the Jonas Brothers being together.
Let’s pray they make a comeback, maybe during Year 3000? RIP.Â
Â
6. Silly bandz are cute, but make sure the blood is still circulating to your hand.
Twenty on one wrist may be a couple too many.  Â
Â
7. Enjoy being young.
All of a sudden life starts moving at the speed of light and you’ve graduated high school and are already off to college. Be with your friends and your family, embrace those awkward and carefree years. Trust us, you’re going to miss it in a few years.
