Finals can be stressful. However, if you follow these steps you’ll be on your way to an easier and stress free finals week.
1. Take A Deep Breath
Classes are over and now you have time to study for your finals. Before you sit down to study, take a deep breath. Relax. Take a deep breath again. Breathing will help you clear your mind and you’ll be less stressed.
2. Get Away From Technology
Turn off your phone, iPad, iPod, laptop and everything else for an hour and get some work done. You won’t get distracted by every notification you receive.
3. Hang Out
Go out with your friends. Don’t stay cooped up in the library, your dorm room, or your apartment all week trying to study and get your life together. Get a breath of fresh air in the park, go out for ice cream, and maybe even catch a movie.
4. Stay Healthy
Exercise and eat right during this time. I know it’s hard when you want to just sit down all day surrounded by bags of chips and candy because you’re too lazy to cook or go to the dining hall, but you’ll see how amazing you feel after you workout and eat a well rounded meal. Food and exercise fuel your body.
5. Change It Up
Find different areas to study. You can study in one library one day and the other library the next day. Try one of the study rooms in your hall. You might even fancy studying outside. Just change it up. Doing the same routine over and over can and will get boring after a while.
6. Get Some Rest
You need to sleep. I know you want to bang out that 2500 word paper and just get it over with, but you’re falling asleep and your paper is starting to not make sense. Take a break. Nap for an hour or so and get back to work. It will be fine.
