A Senior’s Last Week of Classes EVER As Told by “The Middle”

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at PSU chapter.

Senior year of college is nothing short of a rollercoaster of emotions. One moment you’re excited and the next you are questioning every decision you’ve ever made. You’ve been in school for so long that you can’t even fathom that, in a little over a week, everything you’ve ever known will change, and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. Just let life do its thing and roll with any punches that come your way. Calling this moment in life bittersweet doesn’t even begin to cover it.

Trust me, this might be the weirdest, hardest week of my life to date, and I know I’m not alone. You know what I’m talking about, fellow seniors. You have so much you want to do one last time before leaving Happy Valley, but you know you don’t have time to literally do everything. You randomly panic because you realize how fast time is passing by, and you still have to apply for more jobs because that’s basically your current position. Oh, then there are classes, too. It’s such an odd phenomenon… You’ve never actually cared about going to classes, until this week. You suddenly have a love-hate relationship because you will never have to go again.

Here’s a (miniscule) glimpse into the thoughts of a senior during the last week of classes:

You literally NEVER have to attend classes again.

Then you remember that you still have to submit more job applications.

When someone asks what your post-graduation plans are…

When people keep reminding you that you’re graduating…

Job applications + social life + packing = STRESS (aka food).

Life doesn’t have a “pause” button.

Wait… You also NEVER have to take another dreaded final exam after next week.

But, after finals… graduation.

Then you remember how blessed you really are.  You were fortunate enough to attend this amazing university and now you are receiving your degree. Not everyone can say that.

So, to everyone who still has time left in college…CHERISH IT! Seriously. We seniors are oddly jealous of anyone who isn’t graduating. Yeah, we hated going to class and admittedly had senioritis since sophomore year, but we’re going to miss it. When they say these are the best years of your life and it will be gone before you know it, believe them. Wishing the best of luck to my fellow PSU Spring 2015 grads! We Are… Penn State, forever and always.
