Firmin Alexander was a campus cutie earlier but now that his clothing brand, Unacknowledged Successor, is making waves we figured we should feature him again, this time as a Campus Cerlebrity, and let everyone know what the fuss was about.
Name: Firmin Alexander
Major: Computer Science
Minor: Entrepreneurship
Year: Sophomore with Junior Status
Hometown: Brooklyn, NY
Fun Fact About Firmin: Â He has lived in L.A., France, Brooklyn, and St.Lucia.
HC: What are you involved with here on campus?
Firmin: I am involved with the BLSU, entrepreneurship, and Latin fever clubs. I spend a lot of time in the Stack Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and I am also trying to get involved with the Damietta center.
HC: You’ve made quite a name for yourself through your clothing brand, Unacknowledged Successor. Can you tell us more about that?
Firmin: It all started when I sold my photography company back in high school. After selling that company, I started working with several different clothing brands, helping with everything from marketing to design. I now have contacts with friends like Joey Badass, Kirk Knight, the famous @miilkkk twitter handlers, and countless others who know me from the work I did in high school. Now I am trying to focus more on increasing social media awareness of two of my very own street wear clothing brands.
HC: Do you make the clothes? Who takes the photos?
Firmin: I have contracted with a local printing business in Brooklyn that prints all of my products. The product photos are taken and edited by me using some of the equipment I have remaining after selling the photography company.
HC: How do you determine pricing?
Firmin: My team and I come together to decide pricing based on quality, the amount of ink used, and by comparing our products to other products from different clothing brands.
HC: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Firmin: In 10 years, I see myself as someone who has become successful by hard word and staying humble. Using the skills I’ve learned throughout the years and also here at Siena, the possibilities are endless.
HC: What do you plan on doing after College?
Firmin: After college…I have no idea. I think I will be working on my brands still, but then I’ll have to put my bachelors degree in computer science to work too.
HC: I heard you wanted to set up a “People of New York” type of blog featuring Siena College students. How do you plan on attracting attention to this?
Firmin: After speaking to people around campus, I heard that there is something like this on campus via the Damietta center. With that being said, I am in contact with the staff at the center and I’m awaiting on their decision to add me to their staff. Hopefully this little shout out helps, haha.  I will work to improve the blog using my experiences with editing, marketing and etc. Hopefully, I will be able to reach to students in Siena via face to face interactions. The great thing about a small school is that you can easily meet people and start a good relationship with them. On the other hand, it is hard to approach people and I understand that. Hopefully this blog will at least make people say “Hey, I saw that kid on the blog, did you know he or she…blah blah blah” .
Here’s some links to my main clothing brand that I am focusing on right now. You can contact me if you would like to model, or promote for us. On the other hand, you can just follow us for free giveaways and such. I love to give away free stuff.
