You may have seen the flyers for Supercuts SoccerFest around campus lately. For those of you who don’t know, Supercuts Soccer Fest is an annual soccer tournament run by sport management students at UMass. It is partnered with the charity Friends of Jaclyn, which strives to help children and their families battle pediatric brain tumors, as well as raising awareness of the disease.Â
SoccerFest is more than a soccer tournament however. There is also a “Fun Zone” with food, live entertainment, inflatables, and more. It also serves as a gateway for community involvement, charitable giving, and participation in sports. This will be the tournament’s 13th year, and they are hoping to make it the biggest and best event yet with over 100 teams of all ages from all over New England.
The tournament follows a 6 v 6 format with teams of up to 10 people. There are female and male divisions consisting of U10, U12, U14, High School, Adult-Top Gun, and Adult-Just for Fun (as well as a Coed Just For Fun division), so there’s multiple ways to participate. Better still, all teams are guaranteed at least three games and the chance to move onto to the playoffs for their division.Â
Family and friends are welcome to join on April 25th!
