Small, simple acts of kindness, like holding a door open or saying please and thank you, can really make someone’s day. Here are a few ways to spread a little of your sunshine to those you meet today.
1. Compliment people.
When you see a girl that is rocking her outfit from head to toe, go tell her! You’re already thinking it, and it will make her day.
2. Leave a flower and a note at your friend’s door.
On your way to class, drop off this sweet surprise. A reminder that someone is thinking about you is always delightful. This is a sure-fire way to start their day off right.
3. Talk to your teacher about that lecture you enjoyed.
Most professors have a passion for the subjects they teach, so it is always nice to show an interest. Plus, with all of this talk, you may find that you too have an interest beyond the classroom.Â
4. Ask an old friend to hang out.
Catch up and chat a little. Not only will this get together be fun, but it will also make them feel missed and important.
5. Leave a post-it note for your roommate.
My roommate and I leave motivational and silly notes for each other all the time. These always make me smile and can provide the little extra support you need.
6. Pay for the person behind you at the drive-thru.
You have probably heard this one a thousand times before, but this act of kindness can bring caffeine and good karma.
7. If you see someone struggling, stand up and help a friend out.
Did they drop all of their papers or spill tea all over the table in the caf? An extra set of hands could help resolve this mess a little faster. Small acts like these let people know that they are not alone in the world and that someone is watching out for them.
