If you’re a Type-A personality, you understand that being an overachiever isn’t easy; sometimes (or more like all of the time!) it’s a real struggle! While we can try to convince ourselves we aren’t thaaaat stressed, every positive outcome of our overachieving lifestyle comes at a price.
Here’s just a glimpse at what it’s like to be an overachiever:
You are self-motivated, ambitious, and confident that you can accomplish anything… So you’ve agreed to take on at least three too many huge responsibilities, making you more stressed than Britney was in 2007…
But you are not easily discouraged and you want to constantly improve everything… so you compulsively revisit already fantastic – and complete – projects a million times.
You are also super organized and have To-Do lists written in your planner, in your phone’s note app, and on Post-Its stuck to your laptop just to make sure you don’t forget anything… But you check those lists too often because you’re constantly worrying about what needs to be done and when.
Of the many things you need to do, you are involved in a ton of cool clubs and student orgs… but because you’re in so many, you often have to skip one meeting for another…
And between all the clubs you are in, that awesome internship and 18 credits-worth of homework… you’re social life is seriously suffering.
Not to mention, while you are great at completing everything on your To-Do list… you are terrible at getting enough sleep, if you even sleep at all.
Seriously, it’s more difficult than overachievers make it seem.
