Sources have reported Netflix is extremely close to launching Fuller House, a 13-episode update on the classic series Full House that taught us all about family, growing up, and coming together. Although both Netflix and Warner Bros. have not commented on these rumors, sources have also stated Fuller House would center around Candace Cameron Bure, who played D.J. Tanner in the original series, and Andrea Barber, her goofy best friend Kimmy Gibbler. Besides John Stamos, appearances by Bob Saget and Dave Coulier can also be expected. Full House’s original creator and executive producers, Jeff Franklin, Thomas L. Miller, and Robert L. Boyett, are expected to be the executive producers, and Uncle Jesse himself might also have a producing role! The team seems promising in terms of being able to deliver a new show that measures up to the original Full House, a timeless series that guided many of us through childhood and adolescence.
The 8-season-long series, which ended in 1995, left fans with many unanswered questions about the Tanner family. For those who have spent the last 20 years surviving Full House withdrawals through endless reruns, an embarrassing number of replays of “Everywhere You Look,” and casual visits to the “Full House house” in San Francisco, this spinoff may be the answer to their prayers for a return to those good ol’ family shows we all love. Who did D.J. end up with? Is she happily married to the lovable, adorable Steve? And what is Kimmy wearing these days? Will we be back in San Francisco? How will this remake stack up against Girl Meets World, the spinoff of the classic Boy Meets World? We’re hoping the answers to these and many more questions will be answered very soon. In the meantime, here’s some Jesse & the Rippers to hold you over.Â
