Burning calories and getting fit all while dancing? Sounds good to me. Zumba is a great way to have fun and exercise. The best part? It doesn’t even feel like a workout. But it can be a little overwhlemng for a first timer. Don’t worry, once you catch on you’ll be confident in your new moves and a loyal zumba-goer. Don’t forget to bring a friend ( or make one) dancing is a lot more fun when you have someone with you.Â
Stage 1: Pumped
Hell yeah! Dancing and working out in one? Sign me up!Â
Stage 2: Intimidation
Whoo! I didn’t know we were starting. What are these moves? Why does everyone know what to do but me?Â
Stage 3: Acceptance
Whatever I don’t care, I’m just gonna move my hips and shake it!Â
Stage 4: Confidence
Why am I not in a music video? This is so much fun, I didn’t even know I could move my body like this.Â
Stage 5: Realization
Then you remember to look in the mirror and you think—Oh my god is that what I actually look like? Wow I need to work on my technique more, this is embarrassing.Â
Stage 6: Toning it down
Okay time to tone it down a little. Maybe if I concentrate on my movements more I’ll look better
Â
Stage 7: Freestyling
Forget that, I’m just going to freestyle and do my own thing. Life’s too short to care what I look like, as long as I’m having fun.Â
Stage 8: Reassurance
Okay, the class is almost over and I finally know the moves. And hey! I’m actually in sync with the rest of the class.Â
Stage 9: Excitement
This zumba thing is crazy. I can’t wait to come back next week.Â
Stage 10: Satisfied
Now you can show off all your new moves at the bar and everyone will be impressed when you break out into synchronized dance with your friends.Â
