Emma Fish: AT Club President

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Ohio U chapter.

March is National Athletic Training Month and the AT Club President has been busy! Traveling for conferences while repping OU is only expected, but what else has the Athletic Training Club been up to on campus? Check out Emma’s interview below and follow the AT Club on Twitter @ohioATclub for more info!

HCOU: How did you first get involved with OU’s AT Club?

Emma: Freshman year I wanted to be involved on campus with my major and I had upperclassman mentors who encouraged me.

When did you become president?

I was elected last spring and have been president since fall semester.

That’s pretty prestigous. What do you do as the club president?

I help organize events within the club and department, I run weekly meetings, and promote professional development among AT students.

What has the AT club been doing for National Athletic Training month?

Lots of things! We tabled in Baker to promote general health and well-being, we had a table in Grover that highlighted our specific skill set [as Athletic Trainers] with fun games, we held Preceptor and Faculty Appreciation Day, and we’ve been wearing National Athletic Training t-shirts to spread awareness!

What are your goals for the club as the semester comes to a close?

I hope to have a successful end-of-the-year banquet and promote involvement to underclassmen for next semester!

How can students get involved?

We don’t have a set weekly meeting but we do meet frequently. Check out our Twitter or email me at ef433711@ohio.edu for more info!
