With almost half of the student population commuting to campus, it is important for these students to have opportunities to be more involved and interact with other students beyond class time without having to make the drive from home to school too many times a day.
The commuter lunches and breakfasts are a way that CLU helps provide these students with a free meal as some might not have meal plans and do their best to make these events at times where the students will most likely be between classes.
Freshman Ani Kodabashian says “commuter events are a great way for fellow commuters to make connections and friendships with people who may be closer to them than the campus.” All these meals have different foods, and recently was the BBQ commuter lunch which handed out free bbq chicken and beef with tables and games for the commuters to have fun and enjoy.Â
Junior Becky Drake exclaims “the BBQ commuter lunch is one of my favorite CLU events because it comes at one of the most stressful parts of the semester and allows me to relax and enjoy a good lunch. It also doesn’t hurt that those cornbread muffins are pretty killer as well.”

And there you have it, come out for the next commuter event on April 16th and enjoy some fun games, good food, and even better company!
